Who recognises GTi courses?

Guild Training International courses are recognised by the Guild for membership and insurance purposes. This means that any student who holds a GTi qualification will be able to obtain the insurance they need from the Guild to work in the industry in the UK and Ireland. Guild Membership is also available throughout the rest of the world although insurance will need to be arranged locally. GTi courses are widely recognised throughout the industry in the UK, Ireland and internationally. However, we cannot guarantee that Guild courses will be universally accepted by all organisations and some licensing authorities may require additional qualifications. It is the responsibility of the training school to make students aware of any local licensing restrictions.

Will I be able to get insurance?

Once you have successfully completed the course, you will be able to apply for Guild membership and insurance cover.

What qualifications have the tutors got?

Our tutors have over 50 years experience in the beauty & holistic industry with numerous qualifications between them.

How can the standard be the same as on NVQ courses when they are so short? Our courses seem short but in reality they are not; they are just intense in that you do just the course you are learning and nothing else; classes are also delivered in much smaller groups of students (who are eager to learn) offering individual attention to detail.  Courses are mainly practical based with ‘hands on’ learning, and the simple to follow training manuals cover all the essential theory you need which will be reviewed during class.  During some of the more advanced courses you will be required to carry out case studies at home (where you will practice your skills on clients) prior to returning for your final assessment.

What will I have to wear?

It is essential you look professional whilst working with members of the public. On your practical day you will be expected to be dress in salon clothing. Your nails must be short and hair must be tied away from the face (for H&S) during practical sessions. Only minimal jewellery may be worn with no bracelets.

Will I have to bring a model?

Yes. Some of the courses may require you to work on other members of the class to enable you to also experience the treatments; however it may be necessary to sometimes bring a client depending on numbers; but you will be advised at the time of booking.  If there is any genuine reason why you would not be able to have the treatments carried out on you it is essential to let us know at the time of booking.

How many students will be on my course?

This depends on the course; but a maximum of 6 though usually much smaller.

Will I be taught different practical skills than College due to the courses being short?

Absolutely not!  The techniques used in all our courses are the same as the techniques taught in Colleges or used in industry however; smaller class numbers means we can give more personal attention to students whilst nurturing and correcting practical skills from the beginning.
